Profile Summary
Dr. Kaushal Gupta received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi. His research expertise lies in Algebra, particularly Module Theory, with a focus on generalizations of C1, C2, C3, and D2 Modules.
He completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from the University of Delhi in 2014 and his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2017. With a strong academic foundation and research orientation, Dr. Gupta is committed to advancing mathematical sciences through teaching, research, and student mentorship.
Work Experience
Before joining UPES, Dr. Gupta served as an Assistant Professor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, for one year, where he was actively engaged in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
He was also associated with Anant National University, Ahmedabad, as a Visiting Faculty for one semester in the Department of Applied Mathematics.

Dr. Gupta has published research papers in international journals and actively participates in academic conferences and workshops.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Gupta’s teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that conceptual clarity forms the foundation of meaningful learning. He strives to create a classroom environment where students connect mathematical concepts with practical applications and analytical problem-solving.
He believes in fostering a vibrant, collaborative, and curiosity-driven learning atmosphere that motivates students to think critically and engage deeply with the subject.
Courses Taught
Engineering Mathematics I and II, Partial Differential Equations, and other mathematics courses for science and engineering undergraduates.
He is also involved in laboratory-based courses such as Python Programming and MATLAB.
Awards and Grants
Dr. Gupta was awarded a UGC Research Fellowship from 2019 to 2023, including Junior Research Fellowship (2019–2020) and Senior Research Fellowship at IIT (BHU).
He secured All India Rank 103 (JRF) in the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination conducted by CSIR in June 2018 and All India Rank 39 (Lectureship) in June 2017.
He also qualified JAM 2015 with All India Rank 70 and cleared GATE examinations in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Scholarly Activities
Dr. Gupta has published research papers in reputed international journals in the field of Algebra and Module Theory. His scholarly work focuses on structural properties of modules, pure submodules, and direct summand theory.
He presented his research paper titled Modules in which a pure submodule is essential in a direct summand at the 88th Annual Conference of the Indian Mathematical Society, an International Meet held from December 27–30, 2022, organized by the Department of Mathematics, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.
He has also participated in several national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops in both online and offline modes, reflecting his continued engagement with the mathematical research community.
