Profile Summary
Dr. Priya Kumari Singh received her doctorate (Ph.D.) from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Her research focuses on developing numerical methods to solve stochastic Itô–Volterra integral equations. She has implemented several advanced numerical techniques, including the Galerkin method, operational matrix method, and collocation method.
Currently, her work extends to stochastic delay differential equations and related computational approaches. She has published research articles in journals of reputed international publishers such as Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Springer. Through her academic work, she aims to foster a creative research environment that inspires innovation, analytical thinking, and scientific curiosity among students.
Work Experience
efore joining UPES, Dr. Priya Kumari Singh served as an Assistant Professor at Silicon University, Bhubaneswar, where she was involved in teaching and academic activities for one year.

Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Priya’s teaching philosophy centers on student-focused and inclusive learning that connects theory with real-world applications. She believes learning is most effective when students actively engage through discussion, problem-solving, and experiential activities.
As a teacher, her role is to facilitate critical thinking, curiosity, and ethical awareness rather than merely transmit information. She strives to create a supportive environment that respects diverse perspectives and learning styles, encourages lifelong learning, and equips students with analytical skills relevant to academic, professional, and societal contexts.
Courses Taught
Mathematical Statistics, Monte Carlo Methods, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Probability Entropy and MC-Simulation, Basic Mathematics, and Remedial Mathematics. She has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Awards and Grants
Dr. Priya was awarded the GATE Fellowship by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, during 2019–2022 in support of her higher studies and research.
Scholarly Activities
Dr. Priya has published several research articles in esteemed international journals in the areas of numerical analysis, stochastic equations, and applied mathematics. Her publications have appeared with reputed publishers such as Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Springer.
She has also served as a reviewer for journals published by leading academic publishers including Springer and Taylor & Francis, reflecting her active engagement with the global research community. Her scholarly interests continue to focus on advancing computational methods for stochastic systems and mentoring students in research-oriented learning.
