Dr. Rohit Kumar Saw

Dr. Rohit Kumar Saw completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from UCET, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, followed by his M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, where he focused his research on Enhanced Oil Recovery and Low-Salinity Waterflooding (LSWF). He possesses extensive research experience with a strong background in Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Drilling Engineering, and Reservoir Simulation. His scholarly contributions include numerous research articles and conference papers, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in petroleum engineering. 

Dr. Saw previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Presidency University, Bengaluru. He has also built significant research experience through academic and industry collaborations focused on enhanced oil recovery, reservoir studies, and production optimization.

Dr. Saw views teaching as a dynamic two-way process grounded in active student engagement. By integrating project-based learning and collaborative activities, he encourages students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems. His ultimate goal is to inspire lifelong learners equipped with the skills, confidence, and values to contribute positively to society.

Dr. Saw received the Inder Mohan Thapar Foundation Research Award 2024 for outstanding research in Petroleum Engineering, awarded by IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. 

Dr. Saw is a dynamic and results-driven petroleum engineering professional with over six years of dedicated research experience and more than two years in academia. With a strong publication record of 18 SCI-indexed papers, he specializes in advanced hydrocarbon production techniques, enhanced oil recovery, and low salinity waterflooding. His expertise is strengthened by hands-on collaborations with leading government and private organizations, enabling him to translate laboratory insights into reservoir-scale, field-ready solutions. 

He is also a committed mentor and active peer reviewer for more than 17 high-impact international journals. His academic presence extends through research networks including Google Scholar, LinkedIn, ORCID, and ResearchGate.
