Abhishek Prabir Banerjee is a governance, compliance, and sustainability professional with over 18 years of international experience across India, Qatar, and Kuwait. He brings a unique blend of public policy expertise and industry practice, strengthened by a Master’s in Public Administration (Urban & Social Policy) from Columbia University, New York. His career spans strategic roles in workforce welfare, internal audit, labour law enforcement, and organizational governance, including his pivotal contribution to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 programme, where he led large-scale compliance, enforcement, and labour rights initiatives. At UPES, he serves as an Assistant Professor. His academic contributions include teaching governance, safety, and compliance to B.Tech and M.Tech students, integrating case-based pedagogy with insights from global best practices. With specialized expertise in compliance management, sustainability assurance, internal controls, and risk advisory, he remains committed to fostering a culture of ethical practice, institutional resilience, and sustainable development.

Abhishek has over 18 years of diverse professional experience across India, Qatar, and Kuwait in governance, compliance, labour welfare, internal audit, and sustainability. Before joining UPES, he served as a Compliance & Enforcement Specialist with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, leading labour rights, welfare oversight, and regulatory integration for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 programme. He has also worked with KPMG, PwC, EY, and Protiviti in risk advisory roles, managing internal audits, governance reviews, and compliance assessments for government entities, banks, and multinational organizations.
