Profile Summary

Dr. Chitranshu Khandelwal is an academic in Operations and Supply Chain Management, with expertise in circular economy, sustainable supply chains, and carbon emissions. He holds a PhD from IIT Roorkee, where his research focused on sustainability transitions in the Indian plastic industry. 

His work integrates data-driven decision-making, quantitative modelling, and econometric analysis to address challenges related to sustainability, productivity, and operational resilience. He has published in reputed journals and presented at leading international forums including POMS, AOM, EurOMA, and DSI. 

Prior to joining UPES, he served as faculty at Alliance University, Bengaluru.

Work Experience

Dr. Khandelwal previously served as Assistant Professor at Alliance School of Business, Bengaluru, where he taught operations and supply chain courses and mentored MBA projects. 

At IIT Roorkee, he contributed as a Teaching Assistant for NPTEL courses and supported executive and MBA-level teaching.

Research Interests

Sustainable supply chains; circular economy; carbon emissions; operations management; ESG and productivity; data-driven decision-making.

Teaching Philosophy

He adopts an experiential and analytics-driven approach, using case studies, simulations, and tools such as Excel and Power BI to solve real-world problems.

Dr. Khandelwal’s research focuses on sustainability, carbon reduction, and digital transformation in supply chains. His publications examine circular economy adoption, ESG strategies, and supply chain resilience in emerging markets. 

He has presented at leading international conferences and contributed to edited volumes, including a forthcoming book chapter with Palgrave Macmillan on biodiversity and financial stability. 

He also serves as a reviewer for academic journals, participates in faculty development programmes on AI and analytics, and mentors students on industry-linked projects, bridging analytical rigour with practical application.
