Dr. Soumen Rej

Dr. Soumen Rej defended a Ph.D. thesis at the Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, earned B. Tech in Electrical Engineering and M. Tech in Industrial Engineering and Management from West Bengal University of Technology (India), ranking second in his class to receive the Silver Medal from the University. He has also worked as a Research Fellow at Central Power Research Institute, Government of India. His research interests include Economics of Climate Change, Energy Policy, Energy Economics, and Sustainability. Dr. Rej has published several articles in reputed journals like the Journal of Cleaner Production, Renewable Energy, Resources Policy, Environmental Science and Pollution Research and many more.

Before joining UPES, Dr. Rej was associated with Gitam School of Business, GITAM University, Vizag campus as Assistant Professor.

Dr. Rej’s teaching philosophy has been rooted to create a dynamic environment where all the students can grow physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. Dr. Rej always desires to create a teaching- learning environment where all the students in a class receive equal opportunity to disseminate their ideas, exchange knowledge and realise their full potential.

Dr. Rej teaches core subjects like Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics, and Statistics, as well as specialization subjects like Energy Economics.
