Dr. Soumen Rej

Dr. Soumen Rej is currently working as Assistant Professor in School of Business, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) and defended Ph.D. thesis at the Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, earned B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and M.Tech in Industrial Engineering and Management from West Bengal University of Technology (India), ranking second in his class to receive the Silver Medal from the University. He has also worked as a Research Fellow at Central Power Research Institute, Government of India. His research interests include Economics of Climate Change, Energy Policy, Energy Economics and Sustainability. Dr. Rej has published more than twenty articles in the different reputed journals like Journal of Cleaner Production, Renewable Energy, Resources Policy, Environmental Science and Pollution Research and many more.

Before joining UPES, Dr. Rej was associated with Gitam School of Business, GITAM University, Vizag campus as Assistant Professor.

Dr. Rej’s teaching philosophy has been rooted to create a dynamic environment where all the students can grow physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally.  Dr. Rej always desires to create a teaching- learning environment where all the students in a class receives equal opportunity to disseminate their ideas, exchange the knowledge and students can utilize full of their potential.

Dr. Rej teaches the core subjects like Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics, Statistics, as well as teaches the specialization subject like Energy Economics.
