Profile Summary

Dr. Vibha Pundir holds an MSc in Economics from Doon University, Dehradun, and a Ph.D. from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. During her master's, she was actively involved in a research project focused on loss estimation from the 2013 Uttarakhand disaster, gaining hands-on experience in disaster impact assessment. She has also conducted multiple primary surveys for programs such as Room to Read and ASSAR, contributing to field-based policy research. Her expertise lies in agricultural economics, post-harvest losses, rural economics, sustainability and rural development. In addition to her research and teaching responsibilities, she has contributed to funded projects, mentored students, and played an active role in academic coordination and curriculum development

Work Experience

Dr. Pundir has been serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) at IMS Unison University since 2022, teaching microeconomics, macroeconomics, international business, and business environment. She previously worked as a Guest Assistant Professor at Doon University and as a Research Associate for Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and Sutra Consulting Pvt. Ltd. Her professional journey includes significant contributions to research projects funded by the Ministry of Rural Development and the World Bank.

Dr. Pundir’s research focuses on agricultural economics, Rural development, Environmental economics and Disaster.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Pundir believes in a student-centered teaching approach that combines theoretical concepts with real-world applications. She encourages active learning through case studies, research-based assignments, and interactive discussions. Her goal is to equip students with analytical and critical thinking skills to understand economic phenomena and apply them in practical decision-making. 

Courses Taught

Dr. Pundir has taught courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, international business, business environment, import-export management, SPSS, statistics, and agricultural economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She integrates research and practical insights into her teaching to provide a comprehensive learning experience. 

Scholarly Activities

Dr. Pundir has published multiple research papers covering topics such as apple production growth, marketing channels, and natural disaster impacts on farming. Her work has been presented at national and international conferences, including ICOHOST 2023 and the National Seminar on Agricultural Transformation. Additionally, she serves as a reviewer for an ABDC-B category journal and is a member of the Indian Association of Hill Farming. Dr. Pundir has also organized conferences, delivered guest lectures, and mentored students in research projects. 

Awards and Grants

Dr. Pundir has received several recognitions, including clearing the UGC NET exam in 2019. She was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for her contributions to social activities. She has actively participated in faculty development programs and research training workshops.
