Dr. Nirupam Mukhopadhyay is an economist specialising in sustainable finance, green innovation, and applied econometrics, with a focus on innovation diffusion. His work lies at the intersection of economics, finance, and environmental policy, examining how technological innovation, policy frameworks, and firm-level dynamics drive sustainable growth.
His research includes studies on green patenting, firm performance, ESG metrics, and fintech, with applications in carbon reduction, renewable energy adoption, and innovation-led competitiveness. He has also worked on forecasting electric vehicle adoption and analysing drivers of green technology uptake. He holds a PhD from IIT Kharagpur.
Work Experience
Prior to joining UPES, Dr. Mukhopadhyay was associated with IIT Kharagpur, where he completed his doctoral research. He has also contributed as a consultant on ICSSR-funded research projects.
