Professor Sana Zehra Kamoonpuri is an accomplished professor of marketing. She began her career in digital marketing before stepping into academics. Sana is passionate about multidisciplinary research that amalgamates consumer psychology and human-computer interaction. Her work on consumer adoption of conversational AI in the Indian retail sector is published in ABDC listed journals from reputable publishers such as Elsevier, Wiley and Taylor & Francis. Some of her favourite courses in the area of marketing include Marketing Management, Brand Management, Personal Branding, and Digital Marketing.

Work Experience

Before joining UPES, Sana has 4+ years of experience in digital marketing. She is experienced in developing search engine optimized content, executing social media campaigns, and refining content to align with clients’ brand voices. Briefly, she has also held the position of Head of Corporate Communications at a start-up.

Teaching Philosophy

Prof. Sana’s teaching philosophy is grounded in her belief that conceptual clarity is the foundation of learning. She fosters a classroom environment where students connect marketing concepts with real world applications and decision dilemmas. She conducts case discussions to hone students into better thinkers, innovators, and decision makers. Prof. Sana’s believes in a vibrant and collaborative learning environment, which she fosters by striking a chord with the curiosity of her students.

Courses Taught

Prof. Sana has taught courses on Brand Management, Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Digital Marketing, Personal Branding, Rural Marketing, and Principles and Practices of Management. 

Awards and Grants

Prof. Sana was awarded the Maharishi Karwe memorial gold medal by the University of Delhi in 2010 in recognition of her meritorious academic performance for three consecutive years. She was also granted the POSCO scholarship by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation in 2009-2010.

Scholarly Activities

Prof. Sana is passionate about research on the emerging paradigms of marketing, curious to explore the adoption of emergent technologies that have transformed the nature of customer-brand interactions. She is an accomplished scholar with several studies published in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals such as the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Consumer Behaviour and Journal of Decision Systems. Further, she has also served as a reviewer for ABDC A*/ category journals such as the International Journal of Information Management, and Marketing Intelligence and Planning – to name a few.
