Profile Summary
Prof. Tumpa brings a unique blend of industry, and academic experience this role. Tumpa Dey has completed her PGDPMIR and FPM from XLRI, Jamshedpur, she also has MA (Sociology) and MPhil (Gender Studies) from JNU, New Delhi. She did her graduation from Presidency College, Kolkata. She completed POSH certification and has a DEI certification from MUMA College of Business, University of South Florida.
Work Experience
Before joining UPES, Prof. Tumpa Dey worked with Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad and Praxis Business School, Kolkata. She started her career as a Visiting Lecturer at Jadavpur. Before joining academics, she has had a decade of experience at various organizations with Tata Steel, Manjulika Foundation for Human Concerns and XLRI for their short-term projects. She is also a Visiting Faculty to XLRI, Jamshedpur, IIFT, XIMB, IMT sister concerns and other institutes.

Teaching Philosophy
Prof. Tumpa Dey teaching philosophy centers on fostering critical thinking and practical application. I believe in creating an engaging and interactive learning environment where students can explore real-world HR/OB challenges, develop problem-solving skills, and gain valuable insights into contemporary workplace dynamics. I emphasize experiential learning through case studies, simulations, and group projects, while encouraging active student participation and personalized feedback to enhance their understanding and professional growth. I believe in Engaging pedagogy and Student-centered approach in which I highlight student participation, personalized feedback, and a supportive learning environment.
