Yogesh Jaiyawala

Dr. Yogesh Jaiyawala is an academic and finance professional with over a decade of experience across teaching, research, and the BFSI sector in India and Ireland. He holds a PhD from South East Technological University, Ireland, and is professionally qualified with CMA (India) and CIMA (UK), along with an MSc (Finance) from University College Dublin and an MBA from MS University of Baroda. He is also an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad (FDP). 

His research spans finance, ageing, household decision-making, and policy analysis, with publications in Scopus and ABDC-indexed journals and a Springer book chapter under an EU-funded project. He has presented his work at international conferences across Europe.

Dr. Jaiyawala brings over ten years of experience across academia and industry. He has taught finance and accounting courses at SPSU and held adjunct teaching roles at Dublin Business School and Accountancy School (Ireland). 

His industry experience includes roles at State Bank of India and Grant Thornton Ireland, working on SOX and AML projects. He has also served as a Research Assistant at Waterford Institute of Technology and currently acts as an Examiner (ad-hoc) for Chartered Accountants Ireland.

His teaching emphasises bridging theory with real-world financial decision-making. Through case discussions, simulations, and spreadsheet modelling, he promotes experiential and analytical learning. 

He encourages students to build strong conceptual foundations and practical problem-solving skills, preparing them for dynamic financial environments.

Recipient of joint funding from the European Commission and AIB Centre for Finance & Business Research during his PhD. He is also a CMA (India) merit holder. 

Dr. Jaiyawala engages in research across applied finance, public policy, and financial analytics, using methodologies such as econometrics and data analysis. 

His work focuses on producing policy-relevant and socially impactful research, with continued collaboration across academic and industry projects.
