Dr. Gaurav Uday Buddhawar

Dr. Gaurav is a seasoned researcher in Computer Science and Engineering with strong academic credentials, including a Ph.D. from SVNIT Surat, an M.Tech. from RGPV Bhopal, and a Bachelor’s degree from Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology.

His expertise spans Computer Vision, Geometric Vision, 3D Reconstruction, and Deep Learning, along with extensive experience in research, mentoring, and effectively communicating complex technical concepts.

He is committed to advancing visual perception research while fostering a collaborative and rigorous academic environment to mentor the next generation of engineers and researchers.

Dr. Gaurav brings over 15 years of experience in academic administration and teaching prior to joining UPES.

He has held leadership roles such as Head of Department and Training and Placement Officer, contributing to accreditation processes, quality assurance, and strong industry collaborations.

Dr. Gaurav believes that Computer Vision should be taught as a craft built on deep intuition rather than only theoretical equations.

He integrates rigorous theory with hands-on implementation, encouraging students to work on real datasets and practical problems from the beginning.

He emphasizes critical thinking, collaborative learning, and continuous feedback to develop independent thinkers capable of advancing the field.
