Dr. Navin Mani Upadhyay is an academician and researcher specializing in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Network Security, and Cyber Security. He completed his Ph.D. in High-Performance Computing from IIT(BHU), Varanasi, M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Information Security from KIIT University, Odisha, and B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IETE, New Delhi.
With more than a decade of academic and industry experience, Dr. Upadhyay has contributed extensively to teaching, research, and institutional development. His research interests include HPC, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, UAV Swarm Intelligence, and Cyber Security. He has published more than 21 research papers in reputed journals and conferences and has filed 1 patents.
Dr. Upadhyay is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Cyber Security Expert (CCSE), and Certified Pentester. He is passionate about teaching Algorithms, Programming, Information Security, and emerging technologies while integrating practical and research-oriented approaches into the classroom environment.
Work Experience
Dr. Navin Mani Upadhyay possesses extensive teaching and academic administrative experience along with two years of industry exposure. He has served in reputed institutions including MIET (Autonomous), Jammu, where he held significant leadership positions such as Head of Department for CSE, Cyber Security, and AI & ML. His academic career spans from November 2012 onwards with experience in teaching, research guidance, curriculum development, and departmental administration.

Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Nelson believes that by birth, nature had made every person a teacher and a learner. Learning is endless and can be derived from many sources – be it seniors, juniors, or even students and children. On a few occasions, even mistakes and wrong decisions teach new lessons. The learning process is better when knowledge is taught or shared with young smarter minds. He considers teaching as a noble responsibility of enlightening the learners while being virtuous and adhering to principles and standards of right conduct and ethics, other than technical expertise. Dr. Nelson has always considered teaching as a noble profession and the zeal to work hard as his talent.

Awards and Grants
Dr. Upadhyay received the Innovation Award from MeitY, Government of India during Hackathon 2017. He has also been honored with several recognitions including the Best Teaching Award, Best in Action Award, Build for the Future Award, and Ravindra Ratna Award for his contributions in academics, innovation, and student mentorship. He is additionally recognized as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Cyber Security Expert (CCSE), and Certified Pentester.
Scholarly Activities
Dr. Navin Mani Upadhyay is actively engaged in research and scholarly activities in the domains of High-Performance Computing, Cyber Security, and Artificial Intelligence. He has authored over 21 research publications including papers in reputed journals and international conferences. His academic contributions include 16 conference publications, 5 journal publications, and 4 book chapters.
He serves as a reviewer for reputed journals such as Scientific Reports, IEEE Access, Cluster Computing, and Parallel Processing Letters. Dr. Upadhyay has also filed 3 patents and contributed to academic development through workshops and keynote sessions. He has delivered keynote lectures and organized academic events focused on emerging technologies and research trends.
In the area of research supervision, he is currently guiding one research scholar while successfully supervising three M.Tech dissertations. He actively participates in professional and technical societies to promote collaborative research and innovation.
