Dr. Sonali Vyas

Dr. Sonali Vyas has been serving as an academician and researcher for more than 15 years. She is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Lifetime Member of CSI. An active researcher, her prime areas of research include healthcare informatics, data analytics, and data mining. She has authored more than 100 research papers, articles, and book chapters published in SCI, Web of Science, and Scopus-indexed journals, conference proceedings, and books. 

Dr. Vyas has also authored and edited several books in the areas of machine learning, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and blockchain. She serves as a member of editorial and reviewer boards for several reputed national and international journals. In addition, she has been associated with organizing committees, national advisory boards, and technical programme committees at numerous international and national conferences. She has also chaired technical sessions at several reputed conferences.

Before joining UPES, Dr. Sonali Vyas worked at Amity University Rajasthan for three years as Assistant Professor II. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant Professor at Jaipur National University for five years and also worked with SS Jain Subodh PG College, Jaipur, for one year.

Dr. Sonali Vyas’s teaching philosophy centres on empowering minds and inspiring growth among students. She believes education is not only about imparting knowledge but also about fostering critical thinking, nurturing curiosity, and developing skills essential for thriving in a rapidly evolving world. Her teaching approach is student-centred, holistic, and grounded in inclusivity, engagement, and lifelong learning. She strongly believes education has the power to transform lives and empower individuals to become responsible global citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society. 

Dr. Sonali Vyas has received several prestigious national and international awards for her contributions to research, academics, and innovation. She was honoured with the Young Researcher of the Year Award at LEAP 2025 by the London School of Digital Business, UK, and the Women in Research Award at SCMIM 2025. 

Her recognitions also include the Research Excellence Award 2023, Young Researcher Award 2022, International Young Researcher Award 2021, Women Researcher Award 2021, National Distinguished Educator Award 2021, and the Best Academician of the Year (Female) award at GECL-2018. 

Dr. Sonali Vyas has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in areas such as Machine Learning and Advanced Database Management Systems. She has also trained students in Python Data Analytics, C/C++, C#, .NET, and Android Programming. Additionally, she has taught concepts related to Agile Development and Management. 

Dr. Sonali Vyas is currently supervising PhD scholars working in the areas of IoBNT and AI-driven healthcare ingestible devices. She has also guided M.Tech scholars on machine learning applications in healthcare. She actively encourages B.Tech students to work on patents and startup ideas related to road safety, healthcare for elderly individuals, and assistive technologies for differently abled people. 

In addition, she has supervised a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students for major and minor research projects. Through her mentorship and research guidance, she continues to contribute significantly to innovation-driven and socially impactful technological development.
