Dr. Surinder Chauhan

Dr. Surinder Chauhan is an accomplished academician and researcher with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Smart Grids, and Optimization Algorithms. He earned his Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, with research focused on the optimal placement of micro-Phasor Measurement Units (µPMUs) and AI-based fault detection. He also holds an M.Tech from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and a B.Tech from Kurukshetra University.

Dr. Chauhan has over six years of teaching experience and more than two years of industry exposure at Tata Consultancy Services. His research record includes SCI and Scopus-indexed publications and presentations at leading IEEE international conferences such as PIICON, SEFET, and ASIANCON. A recipient of the MHRD Fellowship and a professional member of IEEE, he also contributes as a reviewer for reputed international journals.

Prior to entering academia, Dr. Surinder Chauhan worked with Tata Consultancy Services, where he gained valuable industrial experience in software development and engineering applications. Following his industry tenure, he transitioned into academics and has accumulated more than six years of teaching experience.

Before joining UPES, he served as a faculty member at Chandigarh University and National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra.

Dr. Surinder Chauhan was a recipient of the MHRD Scholarship during his Ph.D. program.

Dr. Surinder Chauhan is actively engaged in high-impact scholarly and research activities in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Smart Grids, and Optimization Algorithms. He has authored and co-authored various research papers published in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. His work has also been presented at prestigious IEEE international conferences, including PIICON, SEFET, and ASIANCON.

He also serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals and actively guides undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, promoting innovation-driven learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.
