Dr. Vasundhara is an accomplished researcher and educator in optical communication and photonic network systems. She began her career working on nonlinear optical signal processing and advanced fibre technologies under an Indo-Russian project before transitioning into broader academic and interdisciplinary research. She is passionate about combining optical networking, artificial intelligence, ultrafast photonics, and wireless communication technologies. Her work spans areas such as elastic optical networks, space-division multiplexing, AI/ML in optical communication systems, and all-optical logic design.
Dr. Vasundhara’s research focuses on developing intelligent and high-capacity communication infrastructures capable of supporting next-generation networking demands. She actively integrates advanced computational approaches with optical technologies to improve performance, energy efficiency, and scalability in modern communication systems.
Work Experience
Before joining academia, Dr. Vasundhara gained over seven years of experience working with advanced optical communication tools and research environments. She has worked extensively with OptiSystem, MATLAB, Python, and simulation frameworks for optical networks. Her experience includes designing all-optical signal processing systems, developing algorithms for elastic optical networks, and contributing to projects involving machine learning applications in photonics.
