Dr. Vinod Kumar

Dr. Vinod Kumar is an academician and researcher specializing in Hyperspectral Imaging, Remote Sensing, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (2025), an M.Tech in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (2017), and a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (2014). 

He brings a strong blend of academic excellence and industry exposure. At KPIT Technologies Ltd., Dr. Kumar worked as a Software Developer in Computer Vision, contributing to autonomous vehicle technologies, especially automatic parking systems and large-scale 3D city reconstruction. 

His research focuses on AI-driven visual systems, hyperspectral image analysis, and remote sensing applications. He is committed to fostering a learning environment where strong fundamentals and applied problem-solving go hand in hand. 

Dr. Vinod Kumar has one year of industry experience at KPIT Technologies Ltd., where he worked as a Software Developer in Computer Vision. His responsibilities included developing algorithms for autonomous vehicle applications, automatic parking systems, and 3D modelling of urban environments. 

Alongside industry experience, he has been actively engaged in academic research, publishing scholarly work and mentoring students in AI, deep learning, and imaging sciences.

Dr. Kumar’s teaching philosophy focuses on conceptual clarity and experiential learning. Dr. Kumar has been acknowledged for his research contributions and academic performance during his M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. 

Dr. Vinod Kumar’s scholarly work focuses on hyperspectral image classification, remote sensing analytics, and machine learning frameworks for high-dimensional data. His research includes designing CNN-based and transformer-based architectures for spectral–spatial modeling and earth observation tasks. 

He has contributed to reputed conferences and journals and continues to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects involving AI, imaging, and autonomous systems. He also reviews research papers and mentor's students pursuing research in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Geospatial Intelligence.
