Dr. Faisal Rasheed Lone

Dr. Faisal Rasheed Lone earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, with research focused on securing the Internet of Vehicles using trust-oriented frameworks and machine learning techniques.

He has over ten years of academic experience and has served at institutions including VIT Bhopal, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, University of Kashmir, and NIT Srinagar.

He has contributed to funded research projects in areas such as FPGA-based co-processors, IoT-enabled smart agriculture, and secure vehicular systems, with extensive publications in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences.

Dr. Faisal has over ten years of teaching and research experience and is currently serving as Assistant Professor – Senior Scale at UPES since April 2025.

He has previously worked at VIT Bhopal, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, University of Kashmir, and NIT Srinagar, along with earlier academic roles and industry experience as a mobile application developer at Xavient Information Systems.

Proposed a JKSTIC grant of ₹8.74 Lakhs for IoV-based traffic management and received a minor research grant of ₹3.00 Lakhs from NPIU/MHRD.

Qualified GATE in 2012 and 2017.

Dr. Faisal has published extensively in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, focusing on Internet of Vehicles security, DDoS detection, trust models, and AI applications.

He has authored a book on Urdu OCR and contributed book chapters in machine learning, cybersecurity, and explainable AI.

He actively participates in and organizes workshops, FDPs, and conferences, and contributes to academic development through curriculum design, accreditation, and professional memberships such as ISTE, IETE, and CSI.
