Joginder Singh

Joginder Singh received his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in 2012 and 2015, respectively.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Soft Computing Research, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata until June 2025.

His research interests lie in Pattern Recognition, Soft Computing, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence, with a strong focus on integrating machine learning with biological data for meaningful healthcare applications.

Before joining UPES, Mr. Joginder Singh has over seven years of research experience at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

He worked as a Junior Research Fellow from 2017 to 2019 and was later promoted to Senior Research Fellow, a position he held until June 2025 at the Centre for Soft Computing Research.

He focuses on building strong fundamentals while nurturing curiosity, independence, and problem-solving abilities among students.

Promoted to Senior Research Fellow at ISI Kolkata (2019–2025).

Received AICTE GATE Fellowship (2013–2015) for pursuing M.Tech.

Mr. Joginder Singh is actively engaged in research on explainable machine learning and deep learning applications in cancer genomics.

His work focuses on integrating computational techniques with biological datasets to develop interpretable and impactful healthcare solutions.

He contributes to advancing research in bioinformatics, soft computing, and AI-driven biomedical applications.
