Before joining UPES, Dr. Ramakant Kumar served as a research scholar at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad. During this period, he worked extensively on designing and cryptanalyzing quantum-secure digital signature schemes, including ring signatures, multisignatures, proxy signatures, and blind signatures.

He also proposed innovative concepts such as single-share nature in secret sharing schemes and developed multiple secure sharing protocols. Additionally, his work includes research on time-lock puzzles for secure delayed communication.
