Profile Summary

Mr. Santanu Ghosh is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at UPES. He is a distinguished scholar from National Institute of Technology Sikkim, specializing in quantum computing, UAV-assisted edge computing, edge computing, quantum cloud computing, metaheuristics, and quantum-inspired optimization algorithms. He has completed his Ph.D. pre-synopsis.

His research focuses on the development of advanced classical and quantum optimization techniques, including convergence, divergence, exploration, and exploitation analysis for solving complex constrained problems. His work has applications in critical edge and cloud computing systems, with the objective of improving decision-making efficiency and intelligent resource management.

Work Experience

Mr. Santanu Ghosh joined UPES as faculty in June 2025. Prior to this, he worked as a Ph.D. scholar at National Institute of Technology Sikkim from April 2021 to May 2025.

He also gained industry experience as an Associate Systems Engineer at IBM India Pvt. Ltd. from January 2017 to April 2020, where he worked on client-facing projects for HSBC, Staples, and Google. His technical work involved AS400, RPG, CL Programming, Java, Python, DB2, Apps Script, and PLX.

Additionally, he briefly served as a Systems Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services in 2020.

Mr. Santanu Ghosh has published impactful research in reputed SCI journals such as Expert Systems with Applications, Future Generation Computer Systems, Ad Hoc Networks, and International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction by Elsevier.

His research focuses on optimization algorithms, quantum-inspired metaheuristics, quantum computing, and resource allocation in UAV-assisted edge computing systems. He has also presented findings at multiple international conferences and served as a peer reviewer for scientific journals.
