Shubhajit Datta

Shubhajit Datta is an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the School of Computer Science at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. He completed his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where his work focused on enhancing the robustness of deep learning systems.

His primary research interests include developing defense strategies against adversarial attacks, improving model reliability, and advancing secure AI methodologies. He is committed to bridging theoretical advances in AI with real-world applications, contributing to both academic research and interdisciplinary innovation.

Shubhajit Datta has been serving as an Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) at the School of Computer Science, UPES, Dehradun, since August 2025. Before joining UPES, he accumulated over seven years of academic experience as an Assistant Professor, during which he taught different courses and guided students in research and technical projects.

Awarded Institute Fellowship from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the duration 2020–2025.

Shubhajit Datta has published impactful research in reputed international journals and conferences. He has guided undergraduate students in research, capstone projects, and technical problem-solving. He has also served as a peer reviewer for academic journals and conferences in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

He remains actively engaged in collaborative research initiatives and interdisciplinary academic activities.
