Prof. Phani Tetali is an animator, educator, and cartoonist with more than 30 years of experience, he was the Head of IDC School of Design, IIT, Bombay. He completed his B.Tech. from IIT, BHU, Varanasi in 1988, and his M. Des. in Visual Communication from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay in 1991.

He worked in the Animation and Gaming industries in India for 18 years before joining the academic field. In 1995, he established his own animation studio in Chennai called ‘Animatix’ where he made a 13-episode cartoon animation series in Hindi (the first of its kind in India) called ‘Tara Ki Duniya’.

As Vice President and CTO, he was involved in establishing and running some of the biggest animation and gaming studios in India like DQ Entertainment, Danlaw Technologies, and FXLabs in Hyderabad, India. For the past 13 years, he has been teaching Drawing, Animation Processes, Animation Principles, Character Design, Game Design, and Sequential storytelling to the students of IDC School of Design and IIT Bombay.

He is currently on the Board of Studies for some reputed universities in India.
