Pooja Pawar

Professor Pooja Pawar is an Assistant Professor at UPES Dehradun with over eight years of industry experience in design and innovation. She has completed her Master's degree in Interaction Design from CIID Denmark and holds qualifications in Visual Communication Design from Delhi.

Her core expertise lies in UI/UX Research, Interaction Design, and Service Design with a strong human-centered approach. Drawing from her rich industry and academic background, she combines strategic design thinking with practical knowledge to foster innovation in product and service solutions.

Professor Pooja is dedicated to improving user experiences across digital platforms and services while nurturing the next generation of designers through research-led and practice-oriented teaching.

With nearly ten years of experience in interaction design, her work has focused on understanding human needs, values, and motivations while improving research efficiency and productivity through optimized research operations.

She has worked extensively in building trust in UX research within organizations, demonstrating its value through hands-on tools and methodologies. Her professional experience includes designing websites, mobile applications, and software interfaces. By blending strategic thinking with people-centered design, she develops solutions that improve user experiences while aligning with organizational objectives.

Professor Pooja adopts a collaborative and hands-on teaching approach that encourages students to build problem-solving skills by addressing real-world challenges. She focuses on removing assumptions and fostering a deep understanding of the design process.

Her teaching aims to enhance the quality of learning, bridge gaps between students and teachers, and build confidence — especially among students who need additional support and guidance. She believes in creating an inclusive learning environment where all learners can thrive.

Recipient of a grant for SHODH 2022 for a project on Women Safety. Presented the project Aidwise at Humanizing Work and Work Environment (HWWE) 2022, focusing on Parkinson's Disease in India. Delivered a poster presentation at India HCI 2023 on the effects of poaching and its prevention. Secured First Place in Viewer's Choice at India HCI 2023 for Optimizing Experience for Bedridden Patients and Caregivers. Contributed to Aiding Alzheimer's Patients for Springer Publication 2024.
