Mr. Raja Madhav Jayakrishnan is currently pursuing his doctoral research at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi. His research is empirical in nature and focuses on landlessness in the state of Kerala and the manner in which it affects the identity of people. He completed his Master's degree from Rajiv Gandhi National University and has developed academic expertise in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.

He has undertaken numerous research paper presentations and publications in the area of Constitutional Law. His scholarly orientation reflects a strong interest in legal theory, rights-based discourse, and socio-economic justice.

Work Experience

Before joining UPES, Mr. Raja Madhav was associated with the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, as a full-time research scholar. He qualified as a University Research Fellow and also worked as a lecturer under the scholarship granted by the University. During this period, he handled multiple law courses including Property Law, Insurance Law, Labour Law, and Legal History.

His academic experience has equipped him with strong teaching and research capabilities across diverse legal disciplines.

Teaching Philosophy

Mr. Raja Madhav believes that a teacher must function as a committed service provider to students, offering the highest quality learning experience possible. He considers it the duty of a teacher to uphold the dignity of every student through inclusive teaching methods and an atmosphere of mutual respect.

He believes classrooms should be spaces of open communication irrespective of the subject being discussed. According to him, fear and imposition do not create enduring learning, whereas mutual faith and respect foster meaningful education.

Awards and Achievements

Distinguished research scholar at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, where he qualified for a University scholarship for research. Received high commendation for his research paper presentation at the National University of Delhi in November 2022.

Scholarly Activities

Mr. Raja Madhav Jayakrishnan has published more than six scholarly articles and presented over fifteen research papers at various national and international conferences. He led a research team investigating the Problems of Digital Divide in the District of Wayanad in April 2022 under the aegis of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi.

He has been part of the management committee of the inaugural Dakshayini Memorial Lecture at NUALS, Kochi, and has actively contributed to developing mooting skills among students. He is currently working on a research book based on Land Inequalities and Social Justice in India.
