Dr. Shambhavi Sinha

Dr. Shambhavi Sinha is a dedicated educator and mentor committed to promoting academic excellence and fostering meaningful student engagement. She holds a Ph.D. in Law, an LL.M. awarded with a Gold Medal, and an LL.B. from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. She also holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology from Miranda House, University of Delhi. 

With a multidisciplinary academic foundation and rich professional experience, Dr. Sinha brings a unique perspective to legal education. Her expertise combines doctrinal understanding, practical legal insight, and a strong commitment to student development. She is known for encouraging analytical thinking, ethical awareness, and academic rigor among aspiring legal professionals. 

With over 16 years of varied experience in the legal profession, Dr. Sinha transitioned into academia in 2016. Prior to this, she gained extensive experience in legal practice, editorial work, and allied professional roles. Her combined exposure to practice and teaching enables her to connect legal theory with practical realities in the classroom.

Dr. Shambhavi’s teaching philosophy is anchored in the belief that legal education must integrate intellectual rigor with practical applicability. She maintains that the role of a law teacher extends beyond explaining legal rules to cultivating critical thinking, analytical precision, and principled reasoning. 

She encourages active and structured learning through case studies, Socratic questioning, and discussions that connect legal principles to contemporary legal and social issues. Dr. Sinha strives to create a rigorous and inclusive classroom that values diverse viewpoints and ethical awareness, aiming to develop students’ professional competence and judgment. She ultimately seeks to instill in them a commitment to continuous learning and the principles of justice and integrity.

Dr. Sinha has made meaningful contributions to legal scholarship through her research publications, editorial work on academic volumes, and her involvement as a resource person in various faculty development initiatives and professional training programmes. 

She has further enhanced her academic and professional profile by undertaking numerous courses, workshops, and certifications, and by presenting her research at several national and international conferences. Her scholarly engagement reflects a sustained commitment to academic growth, legal research, and professional excellence.
