Mr. Yogendra Jain is an Assistant Professor of Law at UPES, specializing in Commercial Laws and Insurance Law. With a distinguished blend of two years of courtroom experience and six years of dedicated academic contribution, he brings eight years of consolidated professional expertise. His current research examines the regulatory and ethical dimensions of life insurance, insurable interest, and financial innovation, forming the foundation of his Ph.D. at the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. 

His academic profile combines doctrinal legal scholarship, industry engagement, and practical insight into financial regulation. He is committed to bridging theoretical legal education with contemporary commercial realities and emerging regulatory challenges. 

Work Experience

Before joining UPES, Mr. Jain taught at NMIMS Hyderabad and ITM University Gwalior, where he handled courses in Contract Law, International Trade Law, Professional Ethics, Contract Drafting, and other commercial law subjects. He also made significant contributions to institutional accreditation, innovation councils, and legal aid initiatives. 

In addition, he has advised banks for over three years on loan disbursements and drafted title investigation reports, bringing valuable industry experience to his academic role.

Teaching Philosophy

Mr. Jain believes in a student-centric and application-oriented teaching approach that integrates conceptual clarity with practical relevance. He encourages students to connect legal principles with real-world business and regulatory environments through case studies, drafting exercises, and interactive learning methods. 

His pedagogy aims to develop analytical reasoning, professional ethics, and problem-solving skills, preparing students to navigate complex commercial and legal landscapes with confidence and responsibility.

Mr. Jain’s scholarship includes publications in UGC CARE and ABDC-listed journals, focusing on life settlements, greenwashing, human rights and insurance, and regulatory reform. He has presented his work at reputed forums including IRDAI–IIRM, Gujarat National Law University, National Law Institute University, Faculty of Law University of Delhi, and other international conferences. 

He is also engaged in developing a systematic solution for due diligence in life insurance disputes, reflecting his broader interest in bridging doctrinal law with technological innovation. His academic portfolio further includes expertise in scientometric and bibliometric analysis, generative AI tools for research, and the design of student-centric legal curricula. 

Beyond academia, Mr. Jain actively collaborates with industry and has organized and moderated panels with law firm partners, senior advocates, and InsurTech stakeholders.
