Abhay Pratap Raghuvanshi is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, with an expected graduation in June 2025. He holds an MPhil in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MA in Economics from the University of Hyderabad. Abhay is an applied macroeconomist with expertise in monetary policy transmission, financial markets, and macro-financial linkages in emerging economies. His research focuses on the role of firm and bank heterogeneity in shaping monetary policy effects. Abhay combines empirical techniques such as time-series econometrics, local projection methods, and Bayesian VARs to explore complex monetary dynamics. He has extensive teaching and research experience at leading academic institutions.

Work Experience

Abhay has held various teaching and academic roles across institutions. He has served as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Economic Sciences, IIT Kanpur from 2022 to 2025, supporting courses in macroeconomics, econometrics, and financial economics. In addition, he has been a Guest Faculty at BML Munjal University and MIT World Peace University, teaching monetary economics and econometrics. Earlier, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Management Sciences, Lucknow, where he taught business and managerial economics, and as a remedial instructor at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
