Dr. Veena Dutta

Dr. Veena Dutta is a distinguished higher education leader with over 26 years of experience in academics, academic administration, institutional governance, accreditation, rankings, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. As Pro-Vice Chancellor – Academic Operations at UPES, she provides strategic leadership to strengthen academic excellence, operational effectiveness, and institutional growth. 

An alumna of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad's Faculty Development Programme, Dr. Dutta holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of globalization on the strategic and marketing practices of nationalized, private, and foreign banks, reflecting her strong analytical and research orientation. A certified coach from Erickson Coaching International (ICF), Dr. Veena is also an active member of the Strategic Management Forum and has participated in faculty development initiatives at premier institutions including IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow, and IIFT Delhi. 

Throughout her career, she has held senior leadership positions at UPES, Ahmedabad University, DBS Global University, Bennett University, Pearl Academy, and IILM Academy of Higher Learning. Widely recognised for building and transforming academic institutions, she has led initiatives in academic governance, quality assurance, accreditation, rankings, faculty development, and regulatory compliance. 

Her global perspective has been enriched through academic engagements with universities in France, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey, enabling the adoption of international best practices within the Indian higher education ecosystem. At UPES, she leads key academic functions and drives technology-enabled processes, operational excellence, academic governance and continuous quality enhancement aligned with national and global standards.
