Prof. Nawneet Vibhaw

Prof. Nawneet Vibhaw is a distinguished environmental lawyer, legal academic, and ESG expert with over 18 years of experience in environmental law, climate change, sustainability, and corporate governance. As Senior Director and Head of the School of Law at UPES, he brings extensive expertise spanning academia, policy, and legal practice.

A graduate of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, and holder of an LL.M. in Environment, Energy and Climate Change Law from Lewis & Clark Law School, USA, Prof. Vibhaw has held leadership positions at premier law firms including Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., Khaitan & Co., and JSA. He has advised and represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, and the National Green Tribunal on environmental, climate, regulatory, and ESG matters.

Prior to joining UPES, he served as Professor of Legal Practice and Director of the Centre for ESG & Climate Policy Research at Jindal Global Law School. He has also taught at National Law University Delhi and Jindal Global Law School and currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Environmental Law at NALSAR University of Law.

Prof. Vibhaw has been recognised among Forbes India’s Top 100 Lawyers, named a Recommended Lawyer for Environmental Litigation by Legal 500, and featured among BW Legal’s Top 40 Legal Professionals Under 40. He has also received fellowships and awards from the Asian Development Bank, UKIERI, BELSPO, and the Robert Bosch Foundation.
