Profile Summary

Prof. Pankhuri Sharma is an academic in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources with over Seven years of experience across teaching and research. Her work focuses on understanding behavioural dynamics in organizations, particularly in areas such as Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB), workplace spirituality, and Self Transcendences. She draws on interdisciplinary perspectives, integrating insights from psychology and socio-economic contexts into management education. Alongside her academic responsibilities, she has been involved in student mentoring, placement coordination, and institutional initiatives, contributing to both academic and professional development of students.  

Work Experience

Earlier, she was associated with the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (AIMK), where she taught OB and HR courses and contributed to curriculum development. She has also worked as a Research Associate at MDI Gurgaon and as a Trainee Teaching Associate at IIM Calcutta. In addition, she has experience as a freelance academic consultant, delivering sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate learners across institutions.

Teaching Philosophy

Prof Pankhuri’s teaching approach centres on clarity of concepts and their relevance to real-world situations. She encourages discussion-based learning and uses examples from organizational contexts to help students engage with the subject. The focus is on developing critical thinking and enabling students to apply concepts in practical scenarios, while maintaining an interactive and open classroom environment.

Courses Taught

Prof Pankhuri has taught Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, HR Analytics and Strategic HRM. She has developed the courses Learning & Development and Managing Diversity and Inclusion at the Workplace for the MBA program, which have been approved by MAKAUT University, West Bengal. 

Awards and Grants

  • Best Paper Award (2025) at ISB&M Kolkata Conference for research on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour among Academicians : A study in Kolkata. 
  • Certified Emotional Intelligence Trainer and Coach.  

Scholarly Activities

She has contributed to book chapters in Scopus-indexed publications and actively participates in workshops, FDPs, and academic collaborations. Additionally, she has served as a session chair at international conferences and conducted webinars on Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Ethic. She also served as a Peer Reviewer for the Annual meeting of Academy of Management.  

Prof. Pankhuri has been actively engaged in academic research, with her work presented at institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Ranchi.
