BA LL.B (Hons.)/ BBA LL.B (Hons.) Fashion Law

Program details

The Fashion Law programs—BA LLB (Fashion Law), BBA LLB (Fashion Law) and LLB (Fashion Law)—offer an interdisciplinary, practice-led understanding of the legal, commercial and technology dimensions of the global fashion ecosystem. Students build strong capability in intellectual property and brand protection—covering design rights, trademarks, copyright, licensing and enforcement—alongside regulatory and compliance themes such as sustainability, ethical sourcing, labour standards and corporate responsibility across international supply chains.

The program also engages with the business of fashion through luxury brand management, entrepreneurship, digital commerce, advertising regulation and consumer protection. A distinctive focus is placed on emerging legal questions around AI-assisted design, wearable technologies, data-driven fashion, virtual assets and digital fashion platforms, preparing graduates to advise designers, fashion houses and fashion-tech ventures in a fast-moving global market.

Program Highlights

  • Interdisciplinary curriculum integrating law, commerce and technology for the fashion industry.
  • Strong IP focus: design protection, trademarks, copyright, brand licensing and enforcement.
  • Regulatory depth across ESG, sustainability, ethical sourcing, labour standards and supply-chain compliance.

Fashion law is gaining momentum as the industry becomes more global, digitised and compliance-driven. Key trends include sharper enforcement against counterfeiting and brand misuse, growing reliance on cross-border licensing, and increasing scrutiny of sustainability claims, labour practices and supply-chain transparency. At the same time, AI-assisted design, wearable tech, virtual fashion and data-centric business models are raising new questions around IP ownership, privacy, product liability and digital platform governance—creating demand for specialists who can bridge legal strategy with commercial realities.

  • Fashion & Luxury IP/Brand Protection Associate (anti-counterfeiting, enforcement, licensing)
  • Trademark/Design Rights Specialist; IP Portfolio Executive/Manager
  • In-house Legal Counsel (fashion houses, luxury brands, D2C and fashion-tech firms)
  • E-commerce, Advertising & Consumer Protection Compliance Advisor
  • Sustainability/ESG & Supply-Chain Governance Legal Analyst (ethical sourcing, labour compliance, circularity)
  • Technology & Innovation Counsel (wearables, data governance, R&D collaborations, software/hardware licensing)
  • Consulting / Policy / Research roles in fashion regulation, sustainability and emerging tech governance
