MA Mass Communication - Journalism and Digital Media
Program Details
The MA Mass Communication at UPES is a two-year postgraduate program built for the digital-first media ecosystem. It blends media theory with hands-on production and industry immersion, starting with a common Semester 1 foundation in communication ecosystems, digital journalism, audio-visual production, advertising, PR, media ethics and AI tools for multimedia.
Students learn in professional studios, a PCR and advanced labs through newsroom simulations, podcasts, documentaries and short films, multicam TV production, campaigns and data-driven storytelling for digital and OTT platforms. Internships and industry projects are integral, while Semester 4 offers a flexible project-based track—dissertation, capstone, paid internship, production research or fellowship—helping students graduate with a strong portfolio.
