Dr. Sunil Barthwal joined School of Business, UPES in 2009 and has taught Marketing Management, Consumer Behavior, Advertising, Digital Marketing, and other specialized subjects of marketing to undergraduate and post graduate students. Prior to joining UPES, Dr. Barthwal taught Marketing and Advertising in Dubai, U.A.E., in colleges affiliated to the U.S. and U.K. universities (University of Wales, UK, Champlain college, USA, University of Sunderland, UK) and worked at various administrative and academic positions. Dr. Barthwal trained 120 IOCL dealers under IOCL Dealer training program and taught Marketing to employees of HPCL and IOCL under their career progression programs. Dr. Barthwal has published articles in Indian National dailies (The Hindustan Times and Times of India) and currently contributes topical articles on social and cultural issues for the blogs of Times of India and Down to Earth.

Research interests:

Dr. Barthwal likes to research on multi-disciplinary facets of business and social issues that shape cultural and societal mindsets on aspects such as religion, gender, consumer culture, digital culture, environmental values and sustainability. Much of his publications and research are thus aligned in these areas.
