Dr. Mriduchhanda Chattopadhyay is a recipient of the Japanese Government Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship for doctoral students. She holds a PhD degree in Economics from Waseda University, Tokyo and MA and BA in Economics from Jadavpur University. Post her PhD, she was a visiting scholar at the ICSSR–ERC. Her area of specialization is Environmental Economics and her research interest includes but is not limited to topics on environmental risk perception, household air pollution and support for climate policies. Her research outputs have been published in academic journals such as Resource and Energy Economics and Environmental Science. She has presented her research at international conferences such as the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economics and the Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics She has worked as a co-researcher in a collaborative project with Asian Development Bank as well as in a collaborative project of Waseda University with University of Kassel funded by JSPS & DAAD. In 2022, she received the AY2021 Dean’s Academic Prize from Waseda University and AY 2021 Ono Azusa Memorial Award from Waseda University for her research. She is a member of Society of Environmental Economics and Policy Study, Japan.
