About the Program

UPES Summer School is a 7-day immersive on-campus program in Dehradun for students of Grades 9–12, offering a chance to experience university life in the hills.

Designed for multi-dimensional learning, the program blends academic exploration, skill-building, and real campus experiences, helping students discover their interests and begin thinking about future career pathways.

During the week, students explore future-ready domains such as Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace & Rocketry, and Social Sciences & Humanities, guided by expert faculty through interactive sessions, hands-on learning, and real-world problem solving.

Alongside domain learning, participants also develop essential life and professional skills including communication, confidence, emotional awareness, and the ethical use of technology.

UPES Summer school 2026 FAQ

What are the dates / schedule of the program? Is there any last date to register?

The program will commence on 1st June 2026. Students are requested to report to the UPES Dehradun, Bidholi Campus by 2:00 PM on Monday, 1st June.

The last date to register for the program is 30th April 2026.

What is the fee and what it includes?

The program fee is 25,000 Rs + GST which includes tuition fee, residential fee (shared accommodation in UPES hostels) and meals.

What will be the residential facility for the students?

Students will be living in three/four shared accommodation in university hostels. All meals will be provided by the university in hostel mess.

What is the program structure?

The program includes some common modules from School for Life – UPES. Students will also select tracks of their choice out of the three tracks mentioned, the batches will be allocated on campus. For the other activities related to sports and extracurricular, the team will be allocated upon arrival.

What gadgets students can bring and what not to?

Students can bring their mobile phones, laptops (not mandatory), earphones. Students are required to take care of their belongings hence requested not to carry expensive articles with them. The university hold no responsibility of any damage/missing articles.

What other things student should carry?

Students are requested to carry basic toiletries, clothes according to summers, sports shoes, slippers and sports outfits. Students are also advised to carry basic stationary like pen, pencils and a notebook, students can carry any other basic things as per their requirements and are also free to carry musical instruments like guitar or anything else (if they wish).

What are the medical facilities on campus?

Infirmary: The University provides the students a well-equipped First-aid support in the Infirmary, It’s also equipped with Ambulance evacuation for the students. There are two male and two female doctors to provide medical support to the students. 

Ambulance: Medical supports which are beyond the infirmary are facilitated through a high-tech medical ambulance which is present with emergency management facilities.

Are there any other activities apart from academic modules?

Yes, the program includes multiple sports activities, entertainment activities, nature walk (small Trek) and many more.
