UPES and Kongsberg Digital intend to establish a collaborative partnership focused on advancing the use of digital technologies in the Oil & Gas sector. The engagement aims to drive capability-building, knowledge exchange, and joint innovation through a series of academic–industry initiatives.

Under this collaboration, both parties will explore opportunities to translate technical knowledge into practical projects, embed best practices in their respective ecosystems, and co-create platforms for learning—such as conferences, technical seminars, Management Development Programs (MDPs), and research-driven activities.

The partnership may include shared use of laboratory facilities and human resources, enabling hands-on training, technology development, and joint research endeavors. Kongsberg Digital may extend internships and full-time employment opportunities to eligible UPES students, while UPES will provide domain-specific expertise and training in petroleum and engineering areas to Kongsberg Digital employees.

Both institutions may also work together to publish business cases demonstrating the impact of digital technologies in petroleum contexts. Further, Kongsberg Digital may support curriculum enhancement at UPES by recommending relevant industry-driven components, along with delivering expert sessions in areas such as digital twin technology and other digital Oil & Gas innovations.

The collaboration also envisions knowledge sharing on market trends, consultancy support for students and researchers, and joint development of research and consultancy proposals for external funding. Upon securing such funding, Kongsberg Digital may engage UPES students, faculty, and researchers on mutually agreed terms, based on feasibility and resource availability.
