Examination Pathway:

Examination Pathway admissions through UPES Legal Studies Aptitude Test - CBT (Computer Based Test): 

Minimum 50% Marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)

Followed by Group Discussion and Interview only of students who have qualified ULSAT.

Non-Examination Pathway:

CLAT Merit / L-SAT India Merit

  • For BA LL.B. (Hons.)/ BBA LL.B. (Hons.)/ B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) - Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLATAIR ranking up to 15000/ L-SAT India Percentile of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from appearing in ULSAT.

Board Merit

  • For LL.B. (Hons.)/ BBA LL.B. (Hons.)/ B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) - Candidates with 80% marks in 10th and 12th main five subjects (English as one of the compulsory Subject) are exempted from ULSAT.

Up to 20% seats shall be filled through Board Merit/ CLAT AIR/ L-SAT India Category. In case, any seat remaining vacant UPES has the right to fill such seats through ULSAT.

What are the eligibility criteria for admission to LL.B.?

To be eligible for admission to BA LL.B. (Hons.), BBA LL.B.(Hons.), B.Com. LL.B.(Hons.), candidates need a minimum 50% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary level (X and XII).

What is the admission process for LL.B. Program?

For admission in LL.B. programs, the candidates need to score relevant marks in UPES’s School of Law entrance exam ULSAT. Candidates can also have a relevant score in CLAT (up to AIR 15000) /LSAT-India (above 60 Percentile). The candidates can also choose the non-exam pathways with min 75% marks in 10th and 12th.

For the admission process, candidates have to submit their Aadhaar card number and PAN card number (including their parents’ PAN number) along with their original academic records.

Does UPES provide scholarships for LL.B.?

UPES provide 5 general scholarships:
•    Scholarship based on merit for freshers and existing students (2nd year onwards)
•    33% fee concession for bonafide Uttarakhand students
•    Alumni scholarship.
•    Sports scholarships (up to 100% free ship on complete tuition fees and hostel).
•    Scholarships for the economically weaker sections. 

What training and placement facilities are being developed in the university?

The program will begin with the commencement of PEP (Personality Enhancement program) for students to develop a positive outlook and gain several skills necessary for their time at the university. The university will also assist the students in grabbing the best internship opportunities. The students will also be offered pre-placement boot camp for the students for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) training for their upcoming placements.

Is the hostel facility provided by the university?

The university provides residential blocks for on-campus accommodation separately for boys and girls on a triple-sharing basis. The students can avail university’s on-campus hostel facility on a first-come, first-serve basis.
